The House is pleased to offer our award-winning, comprehensive test prep classes in a variety of options - new for 2023!
The House is renowned for our award-winning Test Prep courses, which are laser focused on helping students achieve the scores they are aiming for. Our process helps students identify strengths and weaknesses - and properly address areas of concern. We offer continuouos and comprehensive diagnostic processes to continue to help students succeed throughout our courses.
The House has developed a course backed by proven strategies, and more than 12 years experience in test prep tutoring.
Students will learn the fundamental skills and strategies necessary for performing their very best on exams. They will build a new level of comfort with the material on the test, while increasing their general confidence for reaching their goal scores.
The House’s ACT program has been tremendously successful for hundreds of students throughout Chicagoland.
The House’s course will consist of 2 hour classes offered on either Saturdays or Sundays (depending on your preference) for 10 weeks in our two locations (Glencoe and Highland Park), or online.
Test prep course Instruction will be divided into two 60 minute sessions, with each session covering either the Math and Science Reasoning sections or the English, Reading and Writing sections of the exam.
Our instructors will utilize The House’s ACT & SAT Course Books (provided to each student), actual retired ACT and SAT test booklets, and an extensive library of support material to deliver a sophisticated, efficient, and integrated ACT/SAT preparation experience.
A seasoned House test prep instructor will lead each small student group through our entire program. The instructor will represent the most elite universities, the top 2% of college entrance exam scorers, and have extensive experience teaching ACT & SAT exam skills and strategies.

The House has developed and optimized a rigorous and effective ten week curriculum for ACT and SAT test preparation. Our course focuses on building familiarity with the exams' architecture and style, and teaches the specific skills necessary for succeeding on them.
Our comprehensive test prep programs target only material that appears on the exams, allowing students to focus on necessary skills and avoid extraneous studying.
Students are then led into short quizzes and passages to solidify these skills, followed by extensive, time-managed practice tests. Personalized strategies for time management, the answer selection process, avoiding traps and more are integrated into the program.
DIAGNOSTICSThe House utilizes actual retired ACT and SAT exams for our diagnostic exams. Utilizing an extraordinary proprietary system, our in-depth, six-page diagnostic reports are generated for each student. These reports break down each students performance on every aspect of the ACT and SAT exam. The data is invaluable in providing a personalized experience for all of our students.
The House also offers parents complimentary access to our online monitoring system. After each class our instructors input specific notes as to each student’s progress, challenges and current status. Through their individual accounts, families can follow the curriculum, track the assignments, and monitor the progress of their students. This system allows for close communication between The House staff and our students’ families.

Registration for this class is available through our website here. The registration deadline is March 31, 2023.
We offer Saturday and Sunday classes from 10 to 12:30 pm
and Thursday classes from 5 - 7 pm.

The House also offers private in-home and in-lounge tutoring as a more personalized ACT test prep alternative. Students can register for The House's Test Prep classes online here. Payment for the program must be made in full before course begins. We are unable to give any refunds after a student participates in their second class.
